Dr Isolde Hertess is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. She has been in full-time private practice in Cairns at Cairns Plastic Surgery for over 24 years. She has a wealth of surgical experience and knowledge. When Dr Hertess trained to be a specialist plastic surgeon, less than 3% of the world’s plastic surgeons were female!
She graduated from Melbourne University Medical School and relocated to Queensland in the late 1980s. She spent an additional eight years training in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane.
In 1993, Dr Hertess obtained her specialist qualification as a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in the division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Having had extensive plastic surgery training, Dr Hertess believes in constantly upgrading surgical training and applying advances in the industry to her practice. She also remains dedicated to teaching.
Dr Hertess has a special interest in all types of breast surgery, eyelid surgery & labiaplasty. She also offers a wide range of non-surgical injectable, anti-ageing treatments. She is extremely dedicated to skin cancer surgery & passionate about achieving excellent cosmetic outcomes.
In 2014, she obtained a Diploma in Advanced Dermatology. She is currently completing a Masters of Medicine (Skin Cancer) at the University of Queensland and is due to finish at the end of the year.
Her vision in establishing Advanced Skin Cancer Practice with Dr Michael Stapelberg was to have a private practice that offers a unique perspective to skin cancer medicine that specialises in early diagnosis, expert surgical & non-surgical management and dedication to achieving the best possible aesthetic outcome.
